AWS email service offering rock-bottom pricing for high-volume senders with technical expertise.

267 reviews·$0.10 per 1,000 emailsVisit website

Amazon Simple Email Service is the cheapest option for high-volume email sending, especially if you are already in the AWS ecosystem. At $0.10 per 1,000 emails, it is hard to beat on price.

However, SES is a bare-bones infrastructure service. You need to handle bounce processing, reputation management, and template rendering yourself. It is not an ESP — it is a sending pipe.

Pros

  • Cheapest at scale
  • AWS integration
  • High throughput
  • Pay-as-you-go

Cons

  • Steep learning curve
  • No marketing UI
  • DIY reputation management
  • Minimal support

Cheapest option if you have the expertise

We send 2M emails/month through SES at about $200. You cannot beat the price. But we spent weeks setting up bounce handling, suppression lists, and monitoring.

Great with proper setup

SES is powerful if you treat it as infrastructure and build your own layer on top. Virtual Deliverability Manager is a nice recent addition.
